Last Unicorn should never be anyone’s last stop for delicious food. Located beside Cancun Mexican Restaurant at 8 Silver Street in Waterville, Last Unicorn does not stand out on the outside during the winter.

During spring and summer months Last Unicorn opens their dining experience to their outside patio space. But, during the winter and fall, the only space available is indoors. Noted for the extremely delicious and creatively original homemade cuisine, Last Unicorn is a disappointment only when it is closed. So, be sure to know the hours! They are open Monday through Friday 11a.m. to 9p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays until 10p.m.

Aside from the two different sections, Last Unicorn has an amazing array of wine and alcohol selections. Not only is their food amazing, but customers are in for a treat when they see original paintings hanging on the brick walls that are actually for sale! There is also homemade jewelry, especially earrings, hanging beside the register that are also for sale.

This is the open dining area for when the restaurant has busy times. There are booths lining the walls to the far right, where sunshine comes in through large windows.

Last Unicorn guests are greeted with a warm smile as they enter into this unique restaurant. Our waitress even informed us that all of their food is bought at local farmers markets and all of their sauces and other foods that are not bought at farmers markets are made in house, fresh, every day. The main reason people visit Last Unicorn is definitely for the food.

By communicating via their Facebook page to relay messages about their daily dinner specials. Each day they update their dinner specials to include many different delectable entrees, appetizers and desserts. They provide catering and large group accommodations for guests as well, priding themselves on the health and taste of their food.

I cannot lie about this part… my friend Rachel and I actually could not help ourselves from eating, to the point where I was unable to snag a picture of the food beforehand! It was that delicious! Last Unicorn has actually always been one of my weaknesses when eating out.

This photo is from the Last Unicorn Facebook. Served with a warm baguette, this delicious cheese dip, with a super secret recipe, is to die for! It can be found on the menu as 'Legendary Cheese Dip' because it is well known to be a favorite.

This dip was the first thing I ever tried at Last Unicorn. It is something that needs to be tasted by everyone who loves cheese. The taste in indescribable, but it seems to melt in your mouth and get better with every bite. The cheeses used in this dip are: manchego, asiago, cheddar and gouda; But the actual recipe is a secret that the owners will never part with! It’s a mix of Spain, Italy, England and Dutch cheese love. Together they taste amazing.

On top of the cheese dip and wine there are also many other kinds of delicious sandwiches and pastas offered. Overall, I can easily say that Last Unicorn has been one of my favorite visits thus far, if not my all time favorite dinner courses.

Below is a video taken by one of Last Unicorn’s guests during their outdoor seasons. The door shown at the end is the entrance into the restaurant.
